Prad am Stilfserjoch
Prato allo Stelvio (Italian: Prato allo Stelvio) is a municipality with 3337 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in Val Venosta in South Tyrol, Italy, about 20 kilometers west of Schlanders.
Geography
The municipal area is to a large extent in the Stelvio National Park. Through the village leads the Suldenbach which flows a few hundred meters north of the town end of the Adige river. Besides Prad also include the further north-west towns Lichtenberg and Agums to the community.
Name
According to the official Prader village book in the current version of the name " prata " from the Latin word comes to German " meadows ".

Further facilities include an outdoor swimming pool in Prad and two campgrounds.
Coat of arms
The local arms of Prad consists of three yellow ears of corn springing from red soil. The background is blue ( sky).
