Saint-Chamant, Corrèze

Saint- Chamant is a commune with 497 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Corrèze, in the Limousin region. The municipality is a member of the Association of Municipalities Pays d' Argentat.

Geography

The municipality is located in the Massif Central and is surrounded by extensive forests. The prefecture of the department, tulle, located just over 14 kilometers northwest and Argentat ten kilometers to the southeast. At the municipal boundary between Forgès and Saint- Chamant Franche Valeine opens into the Souvigne.

Neighboring municipalities of Saint- Chamant are Saint -Bonnet- Elvert the north, Argentat in the east, Neuville in the southwest, Albussac in the west and Forgès in the northwest.
