Saint-Yrieix-le-Déjalat
Saint- Yrieix -le- Déjalat is a commune with 384 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ) in the department of Corrèze, in the Limousin and capital of the canton of Égletons region. The municipality is a member of the Association of Municipalities Ventadour. The inhabitants call themselves Arédiens (female form Arédiennes ).
Geography
The municipality is located in the Massif Central, in the southern part of the Plateau de Millevaches and thus also in the Regional Natural Park Millevaches en Limousin. Tulle, prefecture of the department is located about 30 kilometers southwest and Ussel around 30 kilometers north-east and Égletons about nine kilometers south-east.
Neighboring municipalities of Saint- Yrieix -le- Déjalat are Bonnefond in the north, Péret -Bel-Air in the east, in the southeast Égletons, Rosiers- d'Égletons Sarran in the south to the southwest, Chaumeil in the west and Grandsaigne in the northwest.

History
The name Saint- Yrieix -le- Déjalat goes back to Aredius of Limoges, son of Jocundus, a rich Gallo- Roman nobles. He was a contemporary of Gregory of Tours, who also left some biographical information about Aredius. Aredius founded the monastery Attan, from which later developed the town of Saint -Yrieix- la -Perche.
