San Justo de la Vega

San Justo de la Vega is a small town on the Camino de Santiago in the province of León Autonomous Community of Castile -Leon.

The town was long the pilgrimage and a cattle drive route called Cañada Real. Older residents are still at a Casa de los Pobres - remember the poor house in the Calle de Hospital, Bravo Lozano takes for the successor of Pilgrims Hospice and as proof of the pilgrimage tradition of the place.

The parish church is dedicated to San Justo and housed until 1965 a carved figure of St. Roch, the patron saint of plague victims.

From Santibáñez de Valdeiglesia can be found just before San Justo a crossroads, the Crucero de San Toribio. Here is Toribio, Bishop of Astorga, who was expelled from his office and diocese of libel, have turned over sad and shaken the dust from his sandals.

Main occupation of the village is agriculture. Fruits and vegetables are grown in irrigated areas.
