Castildelgado

Castildelgado is a place on the Camino de Santiago in the province of Burgos, autonomous community of Castile -Leon.

The church is dedicated to the Apostle Peter, she is resting place of Francisco Delgado, the most important son of the village. Delgado was bishop of Lugo and Jaen, elected Archbishop of Burgos and participated in the Council of Trent. Because of him, old village name Villaypún was abandoned, but was used until the 19th century.

Furthermore, there was in Castildelgado a company founded by Alfonso VII pilgrim hospice.
