Uganda national football team

The Ugandan national football team is the national football team of Uganda. It is under the Federation of Uganda Football Associations. So far, the biggest success of Uganda is the second place in the Africa Cup of 1978.

World cup

In qualifying for the World Cup in Brazil, Uganda met with Angola, Senegal and Liberia, which was qualified by the withdrawal of Mauritius for the 2nd round. Uganda was second in the group and thus failed to qualify.

Paul Hasule (1959-2004) was active as a player and coach a total of 25 years in the national team.

Charles Livingstone Mbabazi ( born 1980 ) played in the Irish League for St Patrick's Athletic. There he was crowd favorite before he had to end his career in 2003 due to heart problems. Its popularity as the first African professional footballer in Ireland continues.

Magid Musisi (1968-2005) was the first Ugandan professional soccer player in Europe. He played for Rennes, Bursaspor, Dardanelspor and for several Ugandan clubs. His nickname was "Magic Musisi ". He died after a long illness in 2005.

Tenywa Bonseu (born 1976 ) played for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the USL Second Division, the third highest American League. He also played already in the top league, Major League Soccer, for the known team Dallas Burn, Columbus Crew and NY / NJ MetroStars.

David Obua ( born 1984 ) played in Scotland Heart of Midlothian. He was voted " Player of the Year " in the South African Premier League 2005.

Joseph Kizito ( b. 1982 ) played in Serbia for FK Partizan Belgrade. He is replaced by FK Vojvodina in Belgrade in July 2010.

Eugene Sseppuya ( b. 1983 ) played in Romania for Petrolul Ploiesti (July 2011). Previously Eugene Sseppuya played including for the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer (USA).
