Zaporizhia Oblast
The Zaporizhia Oblast (also Zaporozhye Oblast, Ukrainian Запорізька область / Saporiska oblast, Russian Запорожская область / Saporoschskaja oblast ) is an administrative unit ( oblasts of Ukraine) in southeastern Ukraine. It has around 1.78 million inhabitants (2014). The southern boundary of the oblast is the Sea of Azov. The Dnipropetrovsk Oblast clutching the Oblast in the north and northwest. In the southwest of the oblast borders the Kherson Oblast, on the east by the Donetsk Oblast.

Capital of the Oblast is located on the Dnieper River ( Dnipro ukraininisch ) the city of the same name Zaporizhia in the northwest of the Oblast.
