Zetting

Zetting ( German: Settingen ) is a commune with 854 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district of Sarreguemines Sarreguemines and Canton -Campagne. Mayor ( Maire ) since 2001, Jean -Marie Meyer. Zetting is a member of the Communauté d' agglomà Sarreguemines Confluences.

Geography

Zetting lies at an altitude 195-293 m above sea level, the average height is 144 m. The municipality covers 6.94 km ². The village is like its neighboring communities Witt ring and Sarreinsming on the banks of the Saar and the Saar canal, south east of Sarreguemines and crow flies about 5 km from the German border. On the opposite bank of the Schwartzbach opens into the Saar, near the village also flows through the Goldbach the municipality.

History

The church of the village is known for its medieval round tower from the 11th century, his altar from the Baroque period gilt wood and the stained glass windows from the 15th century.
