The Rijksweg 7 is a Dutch Rijksweg, as the Autosnelweg A7 Zaandam (cross Zaandam with the A8 ) extends to the German border near Bad Nieuweschans. It represents the Dutch part of the European Route 22 marks

Between Den Oever and Kornwerderzand the road passes over the Afsluitdike ( Afsluitdijk ).

In Sneek, the road follows the ring road, as well in Groningen. Both sections are not expanded crossing-free and are therefore referred to as " N7 ".

In Joure a roundabout is with a link to A6. Heerenveen there is a motorway junction with the A32. In Groningen, the A28 ends on the triangle Julianaplein. At the triangle Euvelgunne, as in Groningen, the N46 starts.

Behind the German border is the 4.5 km long German A280 which link to the German A 31, a major north -south link between the Ruhr and the North Sea.

The Rijksweg 7 has a length of 236 km (including 5.8 km N7). The entire highway is part of the European Route 22 since early March 2011 applies between Wognum Zurich and a speed limit of 130 km / h Here, it is tested whether this speed limit is appropriate for the Dutch motorways.

The largest towns along the Rijkswegs are Zaandam, Purmerend, Hoorn, Sneek, Joure, Heerenveen, Drachten, Leek, Groningen, Hoogezand- Sappemeer and Winschoten.
