Alliste

Alliste ( in the local dialect Caddhristu ) is a Southeast Italian community ( comune ) with 6676 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Lecce in Puglia. The municipality is situated approximately 45.5 kilometers south-southwest of Lecce in southern Salento. To the Mediterranean Sea ( Gulf of Taranto ), there are Alliste from west 4.5 km. The district Capilungo is located directly on the sea.

History
