Chimalhuacán

Chimalhuacán is a municipality in the Mexican state of México. It belongs to the Zona Metropolitana del Valle de México, the metropolitan region around Mexico City. The seat of the municipality and its by far the largest settlement is the same Chimalhuacán.

The municipality had in the census 2010 614.453 inhabitants, the area accounts for 43.71 km ².

Geography

Chimalhuacán located in the eastern part of the State of Mexico, near the border of the Federal District.

The municipality borders the Municipalities Texcoco, Chicoloapan, La Paz and Nezahualcóyotl.
