Clan Bruce
The Scottish Clan Bruce comes from Kincardine ( Scottish Gaelic: Cinn Chàrdainn ) in Scotland. In the 14th century it was a royal dynasty and introduced two Scottish kings.
History
The name Bruce comes from the French ' de Brus ' or ' de Bruis '. That was the name of a place in Normandy, today Brix between Cherbourg and Valognes. The founder of the clan was Robert de Brus, a Norman knight who had come along with William the Conqueror to England.
