Cocotitlán is a municipality in the Mexican state of México. It belongs to the Zona Metropolitana del Valle de México, the metropolitan region around Mexico City. The community had in 2010 12.142 inhabitants, its surface area is 15 km ².

Administrative seat and largest town of the Municipalities is the same Cocotitlán, the nearest large towns are San Andrés Metla and Ejido Atoyac.

Geography

The municipality Cocotitlán lies to the east of the State of México. It borders the Municipalities Chalco, Tlalmanalco and Temamatla.
