Columbia County is a county located in the state of New York in the United States. In the 2000 census, the county had 63 094 inhabitants and a population density of 38 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Hudson.

Geography

The county has an area of 1,679 square kilometers, of which 32 square kilometers are water surface. Columbia County bounded on the north Rensselaer County, on the east by Massachusetts, on the south and to the west by Dutchess County Greene County.
