Washington County (New York)

Washington County is a county located in the state of New York in the United States. In the census of 2000 had 61 042 Washington County residents and a population density of 28 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is no longer Hudson Falls, Fort Edward but since 1994.

History

The county was formed on March 12, 1772 Charlotte County of Albany County. In 1784 it was renamed in Washington County, according to U.S. President George Washington.
