Oneida County (New York)
Oneida County is a county located in the state of New York in the United States. In the 2000 census, the county had 235 469 inhabitants and a population density of 75 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Utica.
History
The county was formed on March 15, 1798 and named for the Oneida Indians.
Geography
The county has an area of 3,256 square kilometers, of which 115 square kilometers are water surface.
