Onondaga County, New York
Onondaga County is a county located in the state of New York in the United States. In the census in 2010, the County had 467 026 inhabitants and a population density of 231 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Syracuse.
History
The County was formed in 1792 and named after the Onondaga Indians.
Geography
The county has an area of 2087 square kilometers, of which 66 square kilometers are water surface. It borders the Oneida Lake and has a share in Skaneateles Lake. Fully in Onondaga County are the Onondaga Lake and Otisco Lake.
