Onondaga County is a county located in the state of New York in the United States. In the census in 2010, the County had 467 026 inhabitants and a population density of 231 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Syracuse.

History

The County was formed in 1792 and named after the Onondaga Indians.

Geography

The county has an area of ​​2087 square kilometers, of which 66 square kilometers are water surface. It borders the Oneida Lake and has a share in Skaneateles Lake. Fully in Onondaga County are the Onondaga Lake and Otisco Lake.
