Niagara County is a county located in the state of New York in the United States. In the 2000 census, the county had 219 846 inhabitants and a population density of 162 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Lockport. The Niagara Falls are in Niagara County.

Geography

The county has an area of ​​2,952 square kilometers, of which 1,598 square miles are water. Niagara County is bordered on the north by Lake Ontario, on the east by Orleans County and Genesee County, south to Erie County and on the west by the Niagara River, which forms the border between the Province of Ontario in Canada and New York State in the USA.
