Ecuador at the Olympics

Ecuador, the NOK, the Comité Olímpico was Ecuadoriano, founded in 1946, sent in 1924 athletes to the Summer Games. From 1968 to Ecuador participated in every summer games. At the Winter Games currently no athletes have so far been sent.

A total of 140 participants including 33 women were sent.

The most successful athlete is the athlete Jefferson Pérez, who won the only medals for Ecuador: 1996 gold medal and 2008, during his fifth Olympic participation, the silver medal in the 20 km walk.

In 1968 the 15 -year-old swimmer Tamara Orejuela the youngest athlete of Ecuador in part. The oldest participant was 51 years in 1996 with the marksman Margarita de Falconi.
