Uganda at the Olympics

Uganda, whose NOK, which was Uganda Olympic Committee, established in 1950 and recognized in 1956 by the IOC, took part in the first 1956 Summer Olympics. In 1976, Uganda joined the call for a boycott of the Games in Montreal. At the Winter Games No athletes have so far been sent.

A total of 162 participants were sent, of which 22 are women. Ugandan athletes have so far won seven medals. First medal winner in 1968 was the boxer Eridadi Mukwanga, won the silver in the bantamweight. First Olympic champion in 1972 of John Akii - Bua athlete with his victory over 400 meters hurdles.
