United Arab Emirates at the Olympics

The NOC of the United Arab Emirates, the United Arab Emirates National Olympic Committee was established in 1979 and a year later recognized by the IOC. Since 1984, the State athletes take part in all the Olympic Summer Games. On participation in Winter Games was previously omitted.

A total of 67 participants, including four women, were sent. The only medal, at the same time Olympic gold medal, in 2004 won the marksman Ahmed Al Maktoum in Double Trap. Al- Maktoum was 2008 at the age of 44 years and the oldest participant of the United Arab Emirates at the Olympics. Youngest participant was 1988, the swimmer Obaid Al- Rumaithi 16 years.
