Elitserien (1927–35)
The Elitserien was in the years 1927 to 1935 the highest Hockey league in Sweden. The Swedish championship title, however, was played at this time in cup form in a national final. The League replaced the Klass I i Ishockey as a top division of the country and was itself replaced by the Svenska series i Ishockey. Since 1975 there is an eponymous professional hockey league in Sweden.
