Special

Although a year earlier Monaco won and this country would thus have possessed the right to host the Euro Vision Song Contest, the managers were in Monte Carlo unable to produce such a large show. Thus, the United Kingdom jumped after 1960 and 1963, one more time. Vicky Leandros won for Luxembourg, titled Après toi ( engl.: After you, as a German version: Then you came ), which was composed by Mario Panas (pseudonym for Leo Leandros ) and Klaus Munro and texted by Yves Dessca and Klaus Munro.

Ireland's contribution was sung for the first and so far only time in the Irish language; However, the singer Sandie Jones had so little success.
