Fujian Benz
The Fujian Daimler Automotive Co., Ltd.. (Chinese福建 戴姆勒 汽车工业 有限公司, Pinyin Fujian Dàimǔlēi qìchēgōngyè yǒuxiàngōngsī, or shortly FJDA ) is a joint venture between Daimler AG and the state-owned Chinese Fujian Motors Group and the Taiwanese Mitsubishi subsidiary China Motor Corporation. The company, founded in June 2007, has its corporate headquarters in the industrial area Qingkou the port city of Fuzhou. The construction of a plant began in October 2008, but for logistical reasons the company moved in February 2009 to an already built-up premises within the city. For the establishment of the joint venture and the construction of the plants an investment of € 208 million was applied by the companies Fujian Motor Industry Group Company and Hong Kong Daimler Vans Limited.
The plant started production in February 2010 and limited his activity first to the occasional production of prototypes. In this way, the production process should be for the staff to routine and also the adaptation of the vehicle parts manufactured in Fuzhou local foreign manufacturers should be made easier in this way. About forty percent of all required vehicle parts and components are produced by locally-based foreign companies. On 16 April 2010 the official series production was started.
On the comprehensive 128000 square meters premises of FJDA 1300 workers are employed currently. Approximately 40,000 vehicles are to be produced per year at maximum production capacity here. Depending on demand, the production of the plant can be used model variable. This means that a production line is not associated with a particular model. As in all other works by the Daimler- Konzernes the Mercedes-Benz production system is applied.
The distribution of the vehicles takes over the Beijing-based Daimler North East Asia Ltd.. ( DNEA ). Thus, the vehicles produced by the FJDA in the People's Republic of China, Hong Kong, Republic of China and South Korea are offered. Evident are the vehicles of the Chinese production at the rear of the vehicles, where, is in Chinese characters below the manufacturer's name of the model name, which is located on the left side.
