Hans Junkermann

Hans (called " Hennes " ) Junker Mann ( born May 6, 1934 in St. Tönis ) is a retired German racing cyclist. He was from 1955 to 1973 pro.

After two years of successful career as an amateur and the peak with the participation at the world road championship in 1954 on the blade ring in Solingen, where he won the 10th place, he became a professional rider and won in 1955, the German vice- champion in 5000 -meter pursuit driving and street driving. In 1961, he managed to be the first to three separate German road champion in the pros. Junker man drove in several professional racing teams with a number of other cycling variables ( Rik Van Looy, Charly Gaul, Federico Bahamontes and Rudi Altig ). Junker husband was the late 1950s and early 1960s, to the best cyclists in the world and certainly had the potential to decide jointly the Tour de France. But he failed because he was driving too defensive in decisive moments and repeatedly learned too little support from their own team. For his participation in the Tour de France 1972 Junker man received after a positive doping test a ten-minute time penalty, was due to a bronchial inflammation.

After ending his professional career for May 1973 Hennes Junker husband worked very successfully as manager and team leader of the RC Olympia Dortmund and RSV City Neuwied and sometimes had also later professional cyclists such as Erik Zabel and Rolf Aldag in his team. Junker man now lives in Krefeld.
