Haspelschiedt
Haspelschiedt ( German reel Scheidt ) is a commune of 285 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district of Sarreguemines and Bitche Canton.
Geography
The community Haspelschiedt located in the extreme north-east of Lorraine, near the border with the German state of Rhineland- Palatinate. The territory of Haspelschiedt is part of the Regional Natural Park of the Northern Vosges, the biosphere reserve Palatinate Forest - Vosges du Nord.
Haspelschiedt is known for its pond where you can fish and camp.
History
The village was first mentioned in 1544 as a reel Schid. Other names were reel Schillebeeckx (1793) and Haspelchitt (1801 ).
