Herzele is a Belgian municipality located in the Denderstreek in the Flanders region with 17,224 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012). The municipality has a total of eight boroughs, Borsbeke, Herzele, Hillegem, Ressegem, Sint -ante links, Sint- Lievens- Esse, Steenhuize - Wijnhuize and Woubrechtegem.

The Molenbeek runs through Borsbeke, Herzele, Ressegem and Hillegem and Molenbeek- Ter Erpenbeek runs through Herzele, Sint- Lievens- Esse, Woubrechtegem and Ressegem.

Aalst located 11 kilometers north-east, Geraardsbergen, 12 km south, 19 km west of Oudenaarde, Ghent and Brussels 20 km northwest about 33 km to the east.

The next highway exits are north at Erpe -Mere and Wetteren off the A10 / E 40 Herzele has a regional railway station on the railway line Kortrijk - Oudenaarde - Zottegem - Herzele - Aalst / Brussels and Ghent and Brussels also keep on regional express trains. The nearest international airport is located near the capital, Brussels.
