Hilsprich

Hilsprich is a commune with 907 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs administratively to the arrondissement and canton Sarreguemines Sarralbe.

Geography

The community is located about 20 kilometers south of Forbach. In addition to the main town Hilsprich there are the districts Morsbronn and Cast Vill.

History

The place was first mentioned in 1466 as Hulsperg. Other names were Hulsszperg ( 1479 ), Hulsperge ( 1544), Hilsperg (1594 ), Hilsprick (1756 ) and Hilprich (1801 ).
