Jitotol is a municipality in the central north of the Mexican state of Chiapas. The municipality is located in the Sierra Madre de Chiapas; its name comes from the Nahuatl and means " place of the heavenly language / tongue ".

The municipality has about 18,000 inhabitants and an area of 236.4 km ². Administrative seat and largest town of the Municipalities is the same Jitotol.
