Jussi Kurikkala

Juho " Jussi " Samuli Kurikkala ( born August 12, 1912 in Kalajoki, † March 10, 1951 in Helsinki) was a Finnish cross-country skier in the late 1930s and was active at the beginning of the 1940s.

In the three World Cups in 1937, 1938 and 1939, he won two gold and one silver medal, including in 1939 he was World Champion in the 18- kilometer run. The most successful he was at the World Cup 1941 in Cortina d' Ampezzo with gold in the relay and over 50 km and silver over 18 km. However, the FIS said this championship five years later invalidated, which is why these medals have no official status more.
