Kauehi

Kauehi, also called Putake, is an atoll of the Tuamotu Archipelago in French Polynesia. The atoll belongs administratively to the municipality of Fakarava. Kauehi reached an area of 17 × 23 km. The next Atoll, is located 17 km to the southeast Raraka.
History
1835 Atoll by Robert FitzRoy was first documented, however, the island was already famous for its pearl trade.
The most important town on the island is Tearavero, an airfield was opened in 2001.
