Anuanurunga

Anuanurunga is a small, uninhabited atoll in the Tuamotu archipelago in the Pacific Ocean. Administratively, it is part of French Polynesia and is part of the municipality Hao.

Anuanurunga located 25 km south-east of the neighboring atoll Anuanuraro and 30 km northwest of the atoll Nukutepipi. Together, the three atolls of the group of the Îles du Duc de Gloucester. It is a slightly elliptical atoll with fringing reef largely closed, the rest only a few small motus. The land area is about 7 km ², the lagoon around 2.6 km ².

The atoll was discovered by Philip Carteret in 1767. He named the atoll " Four Crowns " ( four crowns).
