Nengonengo

Nengonengo is an atoll of the Tuamotu Archipelago in French Polynesia. It is 42 km from the southeast of Ravahere. The bell-shape of the atoll reached a stretch of 13 km long and 8 km wide. The lagoon of the atoll has no navigable access to the sea. Administratively Nengonengo belongs to the municipality Hao

History

The atoll was sighted for the first time in 1767 Samuel Wallis. He gave the atoll the name of Prince William Henry.

A small airfield was opened in 1993. It belongs to the company of Robert Wan, an international pearl dealer.
