Lanzo d'Intelvi

Lanzo d' Intelvi is a town in the Lombardy region in the province of Como. The municipality has 1438 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) on an area of ​​ten square kilometers. The municipality is located on the border with Switzerland between the Lago di Lugano and Lago di Como, at an altitude of 900 to 1000 meters and 35 km from Como.

The neighboring municipalities are Arogno (CH- TI), Lugano (CH- TI), Pellio Intelvi, Ramponio Verna and Valsolda.

Personalities

  • In this municipality is also the village Scaria, which is considered as the origin of Allio family, one extended family of builders, master masons, stone masons, sculptors and stucco masons, whose activities over three centuries, is from the 16th to the 19th century, testifies.
