List of National Hockey League awards

The NHL awards are trophies of the National Hockey League ( NHL). There are trophies for the teams that will be awarded according to crucial games and individual trophies will be awarded in the context of an award to players and other contributors to the NHL after one season. The original trophies are kept in the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto and can be visited during the opening times of visitors.

The most important team trophy is the Stanley Cup, which is awarded since 1893 and representing since 1927 the winner of the play-offs in the NHL.

In total there are 15 different individual trophies, which are awarded annually to a player in the NHL. In addition, the best coach ( Jack Adams Award) and the best General Manager ( NHL General Manager of the Year Award) awards at the end of each season. The oldest player trophy of the NHL Awards is the Hart Memorial Trophy, which dates back to 1924.

Individual trophies

The award ceremony

During the award ceremony, the original trophies may be presented on the stage not always, since some are too large. After the gala but can be photographed with the originals, the award winners. The original trophies remain in continuous possession of the Hockey Hall of Fame, but the winners will receive a smaller replica that they are allowed to keep. The names of the winners will be engraved on the original trophies.
