Mannweiler-Cölln

Mannenweiler - Coelln is a wine village on the Alsenz and a municipality in the Thunder Mountain district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Alsenz - Obermoschel, which has its headquarters in the town of Alsenz.

Geography

Mannenweiler - Coelln Alsenz Valley is located in the north- Palatinate mountains. To the north is Oberndorf, in the south Steckweiler. Districts are Coelln and Mannenweiler. The hamlet Coelln includes the residential places Morsbacherhof and Weidelbacherhof.

History

Mannenweiler - Coelln was re-formed on 7 June 1969 the dissolved municipalities Mannenweiler and Coelln.

Parish council

The local council in Mannenweiler - Coelln consists of eight council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Culture and sights

  • The Protestant churchman Weiler- Coelln ( 1860/61 built )
  • Catholic Chapel ( Little Bohl 2). Chapel space in the former Catholic school building in 1741 caused by conversion of a farmhouse. Half-timbered house with stained glass; still occasionally used for church services
  • Randeck Museum ( Böhlstrasse 5). In the former office of mayor and school house ( erb 1748) housed local museum.

Economy and infrastructure

Through the village runs the B 48 via the A63 to the east is connected to the long-distance transport. Mannenweiler is a former stop on the Alsenztalbahn, the nearest railway station is now in Alsenz.

In Mannenweiler - Coelln two wineries are established; further here is a site Keiper.
