Oststeinbek
Oststeinbek ( Low German Ooststeenbeek ) is a municipality in the district Stormarn in Schleswig-Holstein ( Germany ). The municipality also includes the hamlet of Havighorst. The community Oststeinbek was first mentioned in 1255.

Geography
Geographical location
Oststeinbek located in the extreme south of the district Stormarn. It is adjacent to the east of Hamburg.
Geology
The lowest point is the Oststeinbeks Glinder Au, Oststeinbek district, and is located at 8 m above sea level. NN. The highest point of the village is in the district of Heegsbarg Havighorst 51.1 m above sea level. NN.
Expansion of the municipal district
The municipal area measures 1,131 hectares, spread over the district Oststeinbek with 596 ha and the district Havighorst with 535 ha.
Neighboring communities
The municipality is bordered to the north by the municipality Barsbuettel, on the east by the city Glindemann and in the west and south by the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

The municipality consists of the villages Oststeinbek and Havighorst.
The settlement pattern in the district Oststeinbek is characterized by detached and terraced houses, the town center by blocks of flats.

History
Oststeinbek belonged since 1948 to the Office Glindemann. With the incorporation of Havighorst 1974, the community was official free.

With the Reformation Oststeinbek became Lutheran. Denominations today: Evangelical Lutheran 39.1%, Roman Catholic 7.6%, without denomination 37.4 %, other 15.9%.

Havighorst
Havighorst was first mentioned in documents in 1257 on the sale of Asbrook. 1318 was the place into the possession of the monastery Reinbek. After the Reformation it was in 1529 the sovereign office Reinbek slammed. 1581 Powder Mill Domhorst was built.
After the annexation of Schleswig-Holstein by Prussia in 1867 the newly formed Havighorst Stormarn slammed. The introduction of the Prussian municipal constitution in 1889 led to the allocation to the District sands, later the District Lohbruegge. As this 1937 through the Greater Hamburg Act ( the community Lohbruegge was incorporated into Hamburg) was dissolved Havighorst came to the District Barsbuettel, 1948 Official Barsbuettel.
Policy

Mayor deselection 2013
Martina Denecke (independent) was on 9 January 2011 with 51.76 % of the vote emerged as the winner of the mayoral runoff. Your official duties she took on May 1, 2011. Established businesses
In Havighorst a concrete plant is located, which emerged from a brick. A family Krombach was the brick building in 1919. These founding family had to emigrate and so the East Prussian Hermann Schlick took over the factory, however, during the Nazi regime in the United States. Later his son- Günther Kuschmierz led the brickyard and turned it into a successful operation.

Theater
