Roman Catholic Diocese of Sintang

The diocese Sintang (Latin: Dioecesis Sintangensis ) is a location in Indonesia Roman Catholic diocese based in Sintang, West Borneo.

History

Pope Pius XII. founded the Apostolic Sintang Prefecture on March 11, 1948 annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate of Pontianak. With the Apostolic Constitution Cum INGENTI it was raised on 23 April 1956 in the rank of Apostolic Vicariate.

On January 3, 1961, she was elevated to the rank of diocese and the Archdiocese of Pontianak assumed as suffragan.
