History

The Diocese of Bogor was on 9 December 1948 by Pope Pius XII. from the Apostolic Vicariate of territory Batavia built as Apostolic Prefecture of Bogor. The Apostolic Prefecture of Bogor was born on January 3, 1961 by Pope John XXIII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Quod Christ to the diocese and the Archdiocese of Jakarta, is a suffragan.
