Roman Catholic Diocese of Manokwari–Sorong

The Diocese of Manokwari - Sorong (Latin: Dioecesis Manokvariensis Sorongensis ) is located in Indonesia Roman Catholic diocese based in Sorong.

History

Pope John XXIII. founded with the Apostolic Constitution Cum in iis on 19 December 1959, the Apostolic Prefecture of Manokwari of territory of the Apostolic Vicariate of Hollandia.

With the Apostolic Constitution Pro suscepto it was collected on 15 November 1966 bishopric. On 14 May 1974, the diocese took its present name.
