Roman Catholic Diocese of Surabaya

The Diocese of Surabaya (Latin: Dioecesis Surabayanus ) is located in Indonesia Roman Catholic diocese based in Surabaya.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded the Apostolic Prefecture Surabaia with the Breve Surabaia on February 15, 1928 from annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate of Batavia. She was raised on 16 October 1941 Apostolic Vicariate.

It was raised on January 3, 1961 bishopric, which was the Archdiocese of Semarang is a suffragan. On August 22, 1973, adopted the current name.
