Saint-Jean-Rohrbach

Saint -Jean -Rohrbach ( German: Johann Rohrbach ) is a French commune with 1003 inhabitants ( status January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs administratively to the arrondissement and canton Sarreguemines Sarralbe.

Geography

Saint -Jean -Rohrbach is located close to the German border, about 25 kilometers south of Saarbrücken.

History

The place was first mentioned in 1285 as Rorbach in Zellekowe, then Rorbach ( 1409 ) and Saint -Jean de Rotbach (1594 ).
