Saint-Privat, Corrèze

Saint-Privat is a commune with 1108 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Corrèze, in the Limousin region. The municipality is the capital of the canton of Saint-Privat and seat of the municipal association Canton de Saint-Privat. The inhabitants are called Saint- Privacois (it).

Geography

The municipality is located in the Massif Central on 500 to 600 meters above sea level between the gorges of Maronne and those of the Dordogne in the heart of Xaintrie Blanche and is surrounded by vast forests and fields. To the west of the Lac de Feyt is about 5 kilometers away. The lake is the River Glane de Servières, a Dordognezufluss, which originates in the area of Saint-Privat, fed.

Tulle, prefecture of the department, is located about 40 kilometers north-west and Argentat fifteen kilometers south-west.

The Department of Road 980, the former National Road 680 (up to 1972), runs through the municipality. It runs today by Murat in Cantal D 680 to the border with Correze and from then on as D 980 until after Argentat.
