Sally Pederson

Sally Pederson ( born January 13, 1951 in Vinton, Benton County, Iowa) is an American Democratic politician and was from 1999 to 2007, the 45th Lieutenant Governor of the State of Iowa.

After graduating from the University of Iowa, she worked for the Meredith Corporation in Des Moines. She also worked as an editor for Better Homes and Gardens.

During the election campaign for the governorship of Iowa in 1998, she supported Tom Vilsack as " running mate " and was named after its election victory Deputy Governor. After re- election in 2002 by Tom Vilsack, she was again Deputy Governor. Pederson held that post for two terms, thus from 1999 to 2007. Official successor was her party colleague Patty Judge.

Pederson lives in Vinton.
