Henry C. Bulis

Henry C. Bulis ( born November 14, 1830, Clinton County, New York, † September 7, 1897 in Decorah, Iowa ) was an American politician. Between 1871 and 1874 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Iowa.

Career

Henry Bulis studied medicine and practiced as a doctor later in Decorah. In the meantime, he also worked as an Indian agent. Politically, he joined the Republican Party. In Decorah, he was both for some time mayor and postmaster.

As Vice Governor Madison Miner Walden in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC had been elected, Henry Bulis came to his successors. After a re-election, he could of this Official 1871-1874 clothe. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. He served first under Governor Samuel Merrill and then under his successor Cyrus C. Carpenter. Later Bulis was a member of the Senate of Iowa. He died on September 7, 1897 in Decorah.
