Clem F. Kimball

Field Clement " Clem " Kimball ( born August 11, 1868 in Anamosa, Jones County, Iowa, † September 10, 1928 in Council Bluffs, Iowa ) was an American politician. Between 1925 and 1928 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Iowa.

Career

Clem Kimball attended the public schools of his home. He then completed until 1889, the Iowa State College, where he studied mechanics. Until 1893 he worked in this field and as a teacher. After a subsequent law studies at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and his 1895 was admitted to the bar, he began practicing in this profession in Council Bluffs. In addition to his legal activities, he was also active in agriculture. In 1899 he was appointed deputy district attorney in Pottawattamie County for two terms. From 1906, he served for several years as a legal representative of the City Council Bluffs.

Politically Kimball was a member of the Republican Party. In 1912 he moved into the Senate of Iowa, in which he was subsequently re-elected three times. In 1924 he was elected to the side of John Hammill for lieutenant governor of his state. This post he held between 1925 and his death on 10 September 1928. Yet he was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate.
