Alfred N. Poyneer

Alfred N. Poyneer ( born July 29, 1831 in Connecticut; † August 28, 1897 in Montour, Iowa ) was an American politician. Between 1890 and 1892 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Iowa.

Career

About the youth and education of Alfred Poyneer nothing is handed down. For a non- traditional time he came to Montour in Iowa, where he purchased a farm and farmed. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Republican Party launched a political career. For some time he was a member of the Senate of Iowa.

In 1889 Poyneer was elected to the side of Horace Boies for Lieutenant Governor of Iowa. This post he held 1890-1892. Yet he was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. After his time as Lieutenant Governor Alfred Poyneer is no longer politically have appeared. He died on August 28, 1897 in Montour Tama County.
