Snooker season 2004/2005

The snooker season 2004/ 05 was a series of snooker tournaments that belong to the Main Tour. As in the previous year were nine contests on the program. In addition to seven world ranking tournaments, there were two invitational tournaments, where only the title and prize money, but no world ranking points were awarded.

After over 20 years, including a two -year hiatus in the early 1990s, fell the Scottish Open ( last discharged as "Players Championship" ) out of the tournament schedule. In their place was the China Open resumed after a two year break after the increasing popularity of snooker sport in Asia and promptly won the Chinese qualifiers Ding Junhui. The British Open lost this season its status as a world ranking tournament and were only considered as an invitation tournament. Similarly, for the last time part of the tour was the Irish Masters this year.

The season lasted from October 2, 2004 to May 2, 2005.
