Snooker season 2002/2003

The snooker season 2002/ 03 was a series of snooker tournaments that belong to the Main Tour. The previous year, 14 titles have been played out, of which there were still 11 events left - a trend that should continue the following year. Except for the two friendly competitions were everywhere to win points for the world ranking.

After 13 years, the Thailand Masters was included in the tour; Local hero James Wattana counted in recent years no longer a world leader, the interest had waned locally. The second Asian tournament, the China Open were also out of the tournament calendar ( they should but later return ). Also new this was the short-lived Champions Cup. For the Scottish Masters this 21 event should be the last. It formed after an extended summer break on 24 September 2002 the start of the 2002/03 season, which ended on 5 May 2003 traditionally associated with the World Cup finals.
