Triggiano

Triggiano is a city in Apulia, Italy, south-west of Bari with 26,965 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012).

Attractions

The medieval town of Triggiano can still be seen in the " Rione Ponte " district. The name has it of the local access to the town by a drawbridge. When attractions are:

  • The church of Santa Maria Veterana hypogeum and the paintings in the inner vessels.
  • San Lorenzo Church
  • The " Madonna della Croce - " frescoes in the same Patronatskirche

Location

Triggiano is train and bus company connected to the approximately five kilometers away in Bari by the " Sud -Est ".

From the Adriatic Sea to the northeast also just five kilometers.

To the southeast lies Noicattaro, to the south and west of the Cell Amare place Bitritto.

Festivals and Events

Every year on the third Sunday in September, the patronal feast in honor of Our Lady of the Cross. During this time coming from all over the world, but especially from the U.S. and Venezuela numerous emigrants families in the hometown of their ancestors, to celebrate with the locals.
